Sexually Exploited Children (Jagruthi)

This was established to take up intervention programs with highly vulnerable groups. Their objective is to prevent and rehabilitate women and children vulnerable to sexual abuse. This is an organization in Bangalore which works primarily with young girls who have been sexually exploited. They provide these young girls a home and both formal and non-formal education and also help them develop some craft skills. These skills are then used to provide them some income as they make products and sell them. Specifically, a center is being set up in Bangalore to help about 40 children -- the funds are required for teachers' salaries, basic materials for classroom and materials for skill development.
