Swayambhar Nari is a small NGO working in the slums and bylanes of Howrah, in Kolkata. They work in the areas of income generation for women and in nonformal education for primary school age children. CVI is funding a three year project run by Swayambhar Nari for mainstreaming children into government schools. The training for the project is being provided by CINI Asha, who are experts in this area, and with whom CVI has worked extensively in the past. CINI Asha will also monitor this project for CVI.
