CVI is sponsoring an education program at Nishtha that takes 1000 rural girls in Nishtha's project area and keeps them in primary school for a minimum of five years, providing crucial after hours tuition and other social support.
- Article on Nishtha: Describes Mina Das' activities at Nishtha, an organization based in Baruipur in the 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Nishtha focuses on women's empowerment and oneducation, and is one of the organizations that we fund. This article appeared in India Currents (March 2000).

- Article on some centers for street children in Calcutta: This article was written before the formation of CVI,and describes Dr. Sethuraman's 11/97 visit to CINI-Asha's centers. This visit was a precursor to the formation of CVI. The article appeared in India Currents (September 1998).
